It is just hitting me how insane it is that Mario Williams, the biggest defensive free agent on the market, is basically just sitting in Buffalo and stalling because he possibly prefers to sign with the Titans. When in previous years would that have happened? We would have been losing our minds with excitement.

Meanwhile, we are all barely thinking about it because the Titans are aggressively pursuing the biggest offensive free agent to hit the market in a decade.

    What a crazy year.

    Insane indeed!

But I'm not entirely sold on the Mario--Titans thing.

He's scheduled to be there through today...it was reported that he and Manning are represented through the same agency. So he very well could be stalling to see what Peyton does..to then see what we would offer before he decides if he wants to sign with the Bills

Mario is waiting for something. Deals don't take 3 days to get done. You are naive if you don't realize there's something going in. Everyone knows the Bills made him a gigantic offer. Yet he keeps waiting.

    Mario is definitely waiting..

crunching numbers? He's gonna be making a pretty penny but not 48 hours worth of 'crunching'..

All the number crunching that needs to be done for a free agent contract can be done in a matter of hours. It definitely doesn't take 3 days.

The number crunching thing is an excuse.

    Of course I don't, why would I?

Williams is sitting in Buffalo with a huge contract offer in front of him but he's not signing because he's holding out hope that we will sign him? Where's any type of evidence of this at all?

Why would any free agent just sit there and not sign? That never happens.

Mario is clearly waiting for something. If it was a team like the Seahawks (who have been rumored to be interested in him), he would go visit them right now.

He is waiting for a team that can't take him for a visit right now. There is only one team that is so preoccupied at the moment that it doesn't have time to bring in the 2nd biggest name in free agency for a visit. That team is also rumored to be very interested in Mario if it can't sign Manning.

Open your eyes. It's the Titans.

Mario might wake up tomorrow and decide that he's sick of waiting and decide to sign with the Bills. But right now, he is definitely stalling.
