Man were they wrong!!!!

everything sounds like a fair assesment at the time that the comments were made

he went from a trainwreck to being an average QB. hes not exactly proving the critics wrong

 

What exactly were they wrong about?

At the time most of these comments were made, Vince hadn't shown the maturity and accountability that he did when he came in to take over the team last year. These guys were all calling it like they saw it.

I think Vince has done a lot of growing up since that whole fiasco and he realizes that respect is earned, not given. I feel really good about what he did last season and I'm excited to see him improve even more this year.

I'd hope not. He could easily show up and suck once again next year. He hasn't shown enough yet. Now if he's average again this season vs being terrible? Then we can give him some credit for being consistent.

 

At the time, the comments and judgments were justified, personally, Im a VY fanboy, so I always wanted him to get another shot, and Im glad he was able to clear his head, understand things better, and has made the most of this second chance

 

Either way, Jim Rome is an arrogant douche.

I still find myself watching that show every now and then though.

Erik K. was wrong. No doubt. "Not now, not ever?" Really? Really? Fail on his part, IMO.

Yes, at the time you could say it was appropriate, but to say that a guy entering his 4th season in the NFL (with only 29 starts) has no chance of ever being a starter is dumb.

 

I'm as big a VY fan as anybody on this forum but I have to say that most of that seemed fair. None of the guys on the video even made any real predictions. They just assessed the current situation.

Erik K. messed up though and Jim Rome is definitely a fool.

 

Funny how VY's critics had to eat some crow after his rookie year and then looked like they were brilliant after the mental breakdown.

As of right now the scales have tipped a little better in VY's direction but despite a decent year last year he still needs to step it up significantly if we want to beat the better teams in the AFC and win at least one playoff game.

I say the jury is still out.
