That video makes me want him even less. Good job. He is not even Kerry Collins bad, he's crap.

What did you think that video was going to do? make us like him..... He gets rushed, then throws incompletions.

He looked dreadful in that game. Positively dreadful. As soon as he leaves the pocket his intended receiver is either a linebacker or the ground.

He needs to climb the pocket better. I'd also like to see him stand tall in the pocket and deliver the ball regardless of whether he's going to get hit or not, none of this hopping backwards and throwing at the same time.

    Both easily correctable.

Fact of the matter is he played under center and did a lot of play-action/roll-outs in that offense, so he's not just going to be 8 yards behind the center every play.

What did you do? Watch thirty seconds and then quit?

That must be it, because that video makes him look excellent under pressure.

The claim is that his slow 40 time makes him a liability when he's under pressure. A sack waiting to happen.
That video, if you bothered to watch all of it, shows that simply isn't the case. He's great at sidestepping the blitz and getting the pass off.
It wasn't meant to be a "Ryan Mallett's Greatest Highlights" video. Read the description. The guy who put it together (I found it on a Dolphins board) says which games the clips are from. Those were some of Mallett's worst games. I believe that's the point. To show that his lack of "explosive athleticism" isn't a relevant argument against him.
Try putting together a clip of any QB's snaps from all the plays in which they are being blitzed. I doubt they will look like world-beaters. And I would say Mallett looks better than most, because he will wait an extra moment to complete a 20 yard pass rather than take off running for a 7 yard gain.

Avoiding pressure is one thing, but delivering the ball to the receiver WHILE being pressured is quite another.
    1 people high five this.

He sure gets inaccurate when he's under pressure.

So does Peyton Manning. Manning also throws his teammates under the bus publicly when things don't go his way.

Well, it's obvious to me that nobody watches posted videos. That's good. It means I won't have to bother trying any more.
