    The Franklin Cool Springs Marriotte is just across the street from my house. Real nice place to stay if you wanna do some exploring in the TN hills etc. That hotel is now 2nd home to Nissan execs planning the new HQ across the street.
    I'd still go with the Hilton downtown since it's smack dab in the middle of the "Nashville experience" which includes lower Broad, the Ryman, the stadium and so on.. If you wanna stay outside of town and drive or taxi into town try The Hermitage or Opryland Hotel, which is definitely the tourist thing to do..
