After a fast start to training camp, Jake Locker has cooled down.

At the same time, veteran Matt Hasselbeck has heated up.

Hasselbeck was 9-of-9 in team drills during Thursday night’s practice, and the 14th-year pro even showed some nifty moves when he escaped the pocket. Hasselbeck is 26-of-31 in the last two practices.

Locker, meanwhile, had a tough night on Thursday. His first seven passes were incomplete, and he finished a dismal 1-for-10 with an interception (safety Jordan Babineaux). Locker is a combined 9-of-30 with an interception the past two practices.

Locker didn’t have a lot of luck on Thursday. Nate Washington dropped his best throw of the night when he was streaking down the middle of the field, and one of Locker’s targets was interfered with. But he had no one to blame but himself on several errant throws, when the football sailed on him.

“I really don’t pay attention out here as far as who is doing where the ball is going because a lot of it is not the quarterback, a lot of it is the way guys are running routes,’’ coach Mike Munchak said. “There’s a lot of things that weight into it.

“If guys aren’t hitting what they want obviously they start pressing a little bit, but that is something that happens in this league and you have to move on. We’re in training camp and there’s a lot of ups and downs in camp and (Locker) will be fine.”

Sounds like a lot of it may not be Lockers fault to me. He will be fine
