Three days after Titans receiver Nate Washington made his over-the-cornerback touchdown reception against Detroit, quarterback Jake Locker was still marveling at the catch.

“It was one of the most amazing catches I’ve ever seen,” Locker said. “It was just an unbelievable individual effort and then to be able to score, it was awesome. It was a great catch.”

The fact that Locker’s throw was slightly off target led to the reception, as Washington had to pick the ball off the back of Lions cornerback Jacob Lacey, who was facing Washington.

“I wanted (the throw) a little further outside,” Locker said. “I left it a little too far inside.”

Washington said he enjoyed watching the catch on film.

“The first time I seen it, it was kind of like I was a person sitting in the stands,” Washington said. “It was just so good seeing something like that happen, something I’d worked hard for.”

Washington, however, didn’t necessarily surprise himself with the catch.

“I don’t find it hard to believe,” Washington said. “I kind of pride myself in making unbelievable catches. A couple years ago in Dallas I tried to do the same thing.

“It is what it is. I just try to make sure I leave my mark any way I can. I was just happy I was able to make it.”
