Here are the three guys I think would be huge mistakes at number 8.

    1. Cam Newton: So many reasons I've expressed over multiple posts. His off the field issues, similarities to Vince Young and one year wonder status make this a monumental mistake.

    2. De'Quan Bowers: Again a one year wonder. Possibly has arthritic knees... had micro fracture surgery already which is one of the worst surgeries a player can have. I don't trust this guy to have a long career.

    3. Nick Failey: Another one year wonder, sensing a theme here? I just could never take a player at 8 with a questionable motor. Plays with terrible technique and reminds me of Fat Albert in all the negative ways. Comes from an extremely poor family and just seems like once he gets his huge paycheck he'll turn into and injury prone, lazy bum... cough, cough Haynesworth anyone?

    1. Blain Gabbert: He wasn't even a good college player, just don't see what people see in this guy.

    2. Cam Newton: VY #2, a spoiled brat with a bad attitude. No thank you.

    3. Von Miller: Going to probably take heat for this one, but I don't think he fits our defense, doesn't fill a position of dire need, and I don't think he will be as good as most people think he will be.

The one year wonder who excelled in a high school offense. Really dislike VY 2.0. It just feels like Cincinnati should take him for some reason...

    2. Worse than Cam would be reaching for someone like Locker at eight. If the Titans don't think their QB will be there in round two they might get desperate.

    3. Fairley is a one year wonder with freak ability and no work effort. My only comfort would be that his line coach from Auburn would be waiting for him in Nashville.

Avoid the Auburn "family" at all cost.

    1. Da'Quan Bowers: slow, injured, slow, possible microfracture candidate, and slow

    2. J.J. Watt: I don't get why so many Titans fans are clamoring for us to draft a 3-4 DE.

    3. Any QB: I'd rather slightly overpay for or trade for a veteran. Too many out there to justify Newton or Gabbert way above their pay grades.

I thought this might be fun...

Here's a look at all of the #8 draft picks since 1990:

(All Pro-bowlers are highlighted and italicized, all busts are underlined)

    1990: Chris Singleton, LB, Arizona
    1991: Antone Davis, T, Tennessee
    1992: Bob Whitfield, T, Stanford
1993: Willie Roaf, T, Louisiana Tech
1994: Sam Adams, DT, Texas A&M
1995: Joey Galloway, WR, Ohio State
    1996: Tim Biakabutuka, RB, Michigan
1997: James Farrior, LB, New York Jets
1998: Greg Ellis, LB, North Carolina
1999: David Boston, WR, Ohio State
2000: Plaxico Burress, WR, Michigan State (Special category: IDIOT.)
    2001: David Terrell, WR, Michigan
    2002: Roy Williams, SS, Oklahoma
    2003: Jordan Gross, T, Utah
2004: DeAngelo Hall, CB, Virginia Tech
2005: Antrel Rolle, CB, Miami (FL)
2006: Donte Whitner, S, Ohio State
    2007: Jamaal Anderson, DE, Arkansas
    2008: Derrick Harvey, DE, Florida
    2009: Eugene Monroe, OT, Virginia
    2010: Rolando McClain, LB, Alabama

11 Pro-Bowlers, 4 Busts (5 if you want to call Plaxico a bust)...Jury is still out on the others. I think McClain is a future Pro-Bowler.

How is Plaxico a bust? The guy caught the winning TD in the Super Bowl. He's stupid, for sure, but he's far from a bust. Even if he never plays another down in the NFL, he had a good career.

Also, you mistakenly labeled James Farrior a bust.

I don't think he's a bust, I just think he's an idiot. Had I thought he was a bust, I would have italicized his name. I think he should be given another shot...a lot of people don't share my sentiments.

Jamaal Anderson is a bust and James Farrior is not a bust whatsoever.

Any QB round 1 is a mistake. Round 2 is a different story.
