I've been saying it for awhile now, but I'll say it again, the Cows won the AFC South awhile ago by default. Everyone else in the division is having a down year, and they lucked into a down Steelers team that almost got beat by the Colts the week before.

Even with their mediocre QB injured (and their terrible back-up injured), it's still hard to imagine them not getting it. We still have to play in Buffalo and against the Saints, two games that are going to be extremely hard for us. Meanwhile, the Cows only have the Panthers, Colts, Bengals, Falcons, and us left to play. For us to come back and take the division we'd have to beat either Buffalo or the Saints and then win out the rest of the year. I'm not so sure we beat either Buffalo or the Saints (I'm sure we can win out our last three though) as the Cows will likely lose to the Falcons and Bengals, but not likely against the Panthers and Colts.

At this point, for the Cows to lose the AFC South it would be one of the most pathetic moments in NFL history. And before the 'tarded Cow fans that have infected this board show up and start whining about all the players they lost: Even with your mediocre team missing its starting QB, you should be able to beat the Panthers and the Colts.

jplusip, I appreciate you taking the time to articulate that opinion but frankly sir, it sucks. I'm not guaranteeing a Houston collapse by any means but the tone of your post is along the lines of the probability of having threesome with Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift. Please. Stranger things have happened.

A solid run game and defense wins in December. I don't expect them to lose more than two more games.

The Titans have to get hot and snag one of those wildcard spots.

Texans could very easily lose out.

They generally do anyway- and now with no QB? Wouldn't be surprising in the least.

People act like they have a 4 game lead and are a top team in the NFL or something. They don't, and they're not.
    1 people high five this.

lol. You're spot on DW. I think "lose out" is a stretch but they could certainly slip to runner up should the Titans take care of business. Don't tell the Texans fans that though. They are too busy on Texanstalk.com talking about how they are the #1 seed. For real... Five weeks to go and their #1 topic on the forum is "#1 seed in the AFC". Go see for yourself if you don't believe me.

Look, I have faith that we can beat Buffalo and/or the Saints, I really do. But, they are going to be hard games. After that I don't think the Titans have much problems. Worst case scenario is we have a winning season DESPITE all the issues we've had.

But beating the next two teams will be a task. Just gotta hope the sucky yucky Cows fall apart against the Panthers and/or the Colts (would be beautiful if the Colts' one win this year came from the Cows).

That said, our rookie class is KILLER and I'm warming up to the coaching. I think we'll be a rough team to beat next year.

I'm not super optimistic about playing New Orleans. I feel differently about Buffalo. What I have a hard time with is this idea of ordaining the Texans AFC South Champs because we, among others, have a unique set of challenges. That's my main problem.

The Texans D isnt that great guys. Their rushing attack is not great either without the threat of the pass. Its just that simple. The 2nd half of yesterdays game with the Jags is exhibit A. Kubiak cannot hand the playbook to Yates. It will be very vanilla passing in the few times they do it. Teams will load up the box and shut down the run game. Foster had 1 break away run of 43 yards yesterday and the rest of the game he ran 21 time for 22 yards. That was against a depleted Jags defense with 5, FIVE starters out. 11 3 and outs in a row in the 2nd half.

The Texans are leaking oil bad and we will see if they can get back to port. I dont think they can. I think they can lose all 5. If they lose the next 2 watch out for a total collapse.

TJ Yates is not Dilfer and the Texans defense isnt the 2000 Ravens defense. Lets keep it real guys.
