    They open with sun belt teams every year. The cal and ucla games were the first televised games of the season.

    Why do you ONLY call UT out on their schedule?
    Let's look at some other teams opening schedule this upcoming season;

    USC opens against HAWAII
    OKLAHOMA opens against UTAH STATE
    MICHIGAN opens against UCONN
    TEXAS opens against RICE
    GEORGIA opens against UNIV OF LOUISIANA (not LSU)
    FLORIDA opens against MIAMI of OHIO
    FLORIDA STATE opens against SAMFORD
    WEST VIRGINA opens against COASTAL CAROLINA
    PENN STATE opens against YOUNGSTOWN STATE

    But you only call out UT...hmmm:suspect:

    ^Probably because no one on this Titans site gives a flying hot wiener about other teams.

    Tennessee Titans, Tennessee Vols. See where I'm going?

    They aren't opening games, but here's some other tough matchups for the upcoming college FB season;

    Texas vs Florida Atlantic;...Texas Vs Wyoming

    Ohio State vs Ohio.;...Ohio State vs Eastern Michigan

    Cal vs UC Davis (opening game);...Cal vs Nevada

    Nebraska vs Western Kentucky (opening game);....Nebraska vs S. Dakota ST.

    Michigan vs Massachusetts.;....Michigan vs Bowling Green

    But let's ONLY call out UT's schedule, cause you're not a UT hater...riiight..:ha:

    If your diss is something that is true about every major college football program in the country, it's not much of a put down.

    That is not correct.
    The Vols opened against Cal in 2006 and 2007, then they opened with UCLA in 2008.
    Last season only did they open against W. Kentucky...
    So uh, looks like the entire premise of the thread may be bunk...

    The only reason Kiffin said anything (after UT was approached by the Atlanta Sports Council) was he was trying to deflect the attention from the letters of apology USC had to send out to schools that Kiffin wrongly accused of contacting Dexter Jackson. As far as saying UT will make more money playing in this game, that can't be more incorrect. The payout of this game is about $2.5 Million per team. Subtract the likely $800,000 to $1 Million that they would then have to pay UNT, they pocket around $1.5 Million. Great. The amount of money they make with a home game is around $6 Million dollars.

    Also how is USC going to get out of their contract with Minnesota for the game? Kiffin is just desperate to find some way to take the stink off of their probation.
