Lane Kiffin wants UT in Knoxville for 2011 opener; UT would rather play Sun Belt Team

Wouldn't you want to play USC? The tougher schedule the better, right? Besides, what better way to OWN lane kiffin than beat him and chase him out of the state and riot in the streets?

Schedules are set years in advance...

It's Erick..he'll hate on UT for anything, it's like Fulmer abused him at a young age or something..who knows.

Kiffin's not even worthy of coming back to this state if you ask me, I don't care if USC falls apart and they are an automatic win, he doesn't deserve the attention.

Maybe I missed some prior posts, but I don't see anything in here that suggests he's hating on UT. It seems to me he is cheering for them to whoop up on USC and Kiffin.

I am not a fan of either team but in the spirit of competition and the level of hype/buzz a sports event could generate, this would be among one of the biggest college football games of the year and it would be at the start of the season.

UT and USC do have a home and home agreement in 2020-2021 season.

I am in no way a Lane Kiffin fan... for me... it would be like watching two ugly girls in high school rip their hair out in the hallways. You wanna look away, but you can't. You can't stop watching.. Infact you might point and laugh a little bit.

I could understand how you think I could be hating on UT... considering they open each season with one of the weakest teams in the nation every single season and I'm the only one who will call them out on it around here. UT has a chance to get some revenge, ignite the fanbase and generate interest in their program by playing USC. Not to mention some much needed national attention. I would MAKE the game happen if i was them. North Texas only shows up for the paycheck anyways. Just pay them off because UT will make more money than that with the ratings generated on a nationally televised opening day game.

I can't stand Lame Kiffin, but I would actually like for this game to happen.

I seem to recall them opening vs Cal and UCLA in recent years. God knows they play a tough schedule throughout the season every year. Hard to bust on them for SOS

Two reasons I can think of...

If you play USC it's really not a win for UT regardless of the outcomes. I can imagine the jokes of the "Lane Kiffin" bowl.. look at the two college universities he ruined.


The other reason, I wouldn't be surprised if some redneck tried to murder Kiffin. Seriously. People in knoxville are MAD. Hell I'm mad. I would talk smack to Kiffin if I ever saw him face to face.

That's ridiculous. Every major NCAA program has a couple cupcakes on the schedule.

UT plays Oregon 2nd week and Florida 3rd week. And always plays Florida as the 2nd or 3rd game of the season.
