KamikaZ's review makes me think this will be as expected...

basically a movie with a 360 controller. Which could be great for some people, I myself would probably lose interest after an hour or so though. ADD wont allow me to "watch" a game.

About 6 hours in, Gloat, I'd still say rent it. It's not Heavy Rain. It's not just an interactive movie. You're still going around, having to do things for yourself - turn off the hints, and the game won't hold your hand at all. The experience only gets better the harder the cases get, and they tend to get more convoluted.

I think it's one of those games everyone should try, because there's a ton of quality to be experienced.

You actually rarely sit through cut scenes. This is not an interactive movie. You determine how the interviews go. The interviews are fun and so is searching for clues. I actually like searching for clues the most. You end up putting the crime together in your head before you ever start talking to people. Reading people during the interviews is difficult but fun. You end up doing a lot driving and shooting also.
There are radio calls that come in that are basic shooter missions. Car chases, bank robbery ect. I found that you are free to roam LA and do these as you want. Sometimes driving around LA and responding to radio calls is a nice break from the investigations. The city is huge and might be the most detailed I've ever seen in a game. I was playing it and my gf walked in and was stunned at how great the game looks. Especially the peoples faces. She ended up sitting there with me enjoying the story and wanting to help with the interviews.

I'd say buy this game. It appears to be a long game and they are adding content which I assume will be more cases.

I purchased this game. So far the facial graphics are kind of scary good, especially when you regognize an actor from tv or movies. I haven't gotten very far but it is awesome so far, I have done a couple of the action missions and a couple of the cases. My advice is, if like me you have a wife / girlfriend that is in the room with you, they will not complain about having to watch it. In my case, my wife is like "she's lying, look at her dart her eyes"...

The thing I was worried about for the investigations is that the facial animations would be TOO obvious. But unless I have some sort of cognitive problem recognizing emotions, there definitely have been times where I thought the person was being truthful, and I should have said doubtful, and vice versa.

The best advice I can give is don't answer right away, and watch the faces AFTER they're finished speaking. Usually that's where you'll see discrepancies.

it doesnt matter what their faces do, the game devs could have chosen any answer. unless they made it where they are not trying to trick you and actually tried to give you hints with the facial expressions.

have you guys seen a lying face that turned out not to be?
