What round do you think he is worthy? He seems like a guy the Titans would target. He fills a position of need. He has nearly perfect size and build for a DT. He plays for the Titans favorite university. High character guy. Very durable. Difficult to move. He had great production given the circumstances. The only complaint I hear from all sources is that his sack numbers arent there, although I have read that he did make it into the backfield often. I also have read that he played directly under center frequently for Texas and was often double teamed. I think he defines the term "hidden gem" well. Another player I like that fits the definition is Florida State linebacker Nigel Bradham. Great production. Great measurables. Great dependability.
Oh! Before everyone freaks let me make you aware I am not proposing we go this way in round 1. I do believe round 2 would be a reach as well although I think we may get round 2 value out of him but thats just my opinion.
I think we'll take a DT in the 1st or 2nd, Randall is decent in the 4th rounder area. Bradham I like a lot, looks like a 3rd rounder. Would be a great Witherspoon replacement
I personally never like guys like Kheeston Randall. His height and lack of explosion make him look soft, and uninterested at times. He's maybe just good enough to be on someones top 100 list, but he's really not worth pursuing. And before someone calls me out on his explosion, I think my opinion of him is different from others because he should be better with the skill-set he has. But he's not. Watching him play is a drag because of that.
As for Nigel Bradham, he can be good, but he's no better than Gerald McRath right now. Not really a guy that excites me. I'd rather use our picks on other guys.
Thats why I mentioned that he was frequently double teamed. He played directly under center and from that position is extremely difficult to get into the backfield. Considering he was in the backfield, I think is a great accomplishment. So what some are calling a weakness of his I see as a strength. His job was to occupy blockers while pushing the pocket. From my research it seems he did his job well. I also read that coming into this year he was considered to be a potential 1st round prospect.
I value Nigel Bradham and Lavonte David equally but I think that Bradham could be had a round later than David.
