well he didn't really say those words verbatim, but he has made it clear that he wants to continue starting or he'll be gone next season.

"“After sitting for two years and not being a starter, I know I can still do this at high level. It is going to have to be a starting job or I’m going to have to make a decision,’’ Collins said. “I feel like I’m a starter. It is going to be hard for me to go back to being a back-up."

Wow.. Just wow! Less than a month ago he was just happy to help the team anyway he can, and now this. oh well...a couple of losses and a boo or two should bring him back down to earth.

Either way hes gone next season, the team won't sit Young for more then this season in my eyes, unless Kerry wins a superbowl and looks like hes still got a bunch left in the tank.

kerry collins is 35 years old, he's not the future. vince young may or may not be, but it's definitely not collins.

Well, hopefully Simms can fill in well next season once Vince kills himself due to the 'boos' he'll receive. : (

This is the same guy who could not find a job until a week before the season openner as even a backup two years ago and now he is starting to demand to start somewhere?? :suspect:

Someone check his locker for a flask or probably a jug!

Your title doesn't make any sense considering he'll be a free agent next year, he wouldn't be 'cut'. He's letting the Titans and other teams know that he wants to start next year after starting the last few games. There's nothing wrong with it in my opinion. If he wants to start, and a team is willing to have him as a starter, then it's just the love of the game and good business sense.

[my 2 cents] Recalling his personality from when he was a Giant; there is no bigger ego to be found on a football team. He was also the biggest jerk to fans including little kids. I don't think there is very much anyone can do to bring him back down to earth.

I'm glad he has this confidence in his game and isn't afraid to say what's on his mind ... kinda.

In other news, VY returns to practice with the Titans..

    http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20081001/SPORTS01/81001045/1027

Anyone else think that sparked it. Well either that, or that comment sparked the return of VY.

We really need to look hard into who's available next season and trade an arm and leg for him if necessary. At this point, resigning KFC and then trading him along with a mid round pick for someone like Kurt Warner might just be what we so desperately need. Maybe then we can draft a WR with our first round pick, resign big Al.. and be an even more deadlier force.

    Alrighty then..

    edit:

"start me or don't even think of resigning me"

    better?
