Keyshawn Johnson - lets get him!!!

We went all out for Nate Clements and Donte Stallworth.

 

Um...

Clements went to a team that was worse than we were last year. Now, they are significantly improved. Granted they had to dish out a ton of money that will likely bite them in the behind in a few years (though we don't know how Clements contract is structured), but they have built up that team dramatically via free agency and the draft.

On paper...we didn't stay the same either as the team we had last year...we're WORSE!

We added a 1st rnd S, and gamble on a 2nd rnd RB (meaning they have less confidence in White than we thought), and some young players who might contribute some in various ways (WR's, CB, PR, DL). In free agency we added a backup MLB who'll fight for a starting spot, a backup WR who'll likely start, a starting CB who's a nice player but light years away from Pacman.

In the meantime, the two biggest weapons the Titans had last year outside of VY...Travis Henry and Drew Bennett are both gone and we have no sure replacement who's as good. Pac is suspended for the year so we don't have him and Givens is not likely to come back til mid-season with any kind of value. So we have young WR's who haven't really done anything, an overweight RB who says the right things but hasn't done the right things yet competing with a gamble on greatness draft pick...

We still don't have a quality pass rushing RDE let alone a GOOD pass rushing RDE.

How is grabbing a good WR who's perfect for our offense NOT a no brainer???

Fisher should have been the first one he recieved a phone call from saying how he's sorry Carolina hung him out to dry and that the Titans want his services...oh, and BTW, the jet is already en route to pick you up and bring you to Nashville. On your way back, you can get a feel for VY as he's ON THE PLANE. When you get to Nashville we'll give you the star treatment and show you how valueable you'll be in our offense. You'll be VY's #1 target and our best threat in the red zone. We know you want to go out on top and if we can't get you there and you don't want to stay after the season...you'll have plenty of stats and highlight film to show Caorlina how wrong they were and the SB contenders will come knocking on your door next off-season...letting YOU choose who you want to finish your career. We just want the chance to show you how much we want you and how great a fit you'll be for this team! I'm gonna hang up now and give you a couple of minutes to think about it. VY should be calling any minute...

Send your Pleas to Bud, b/c obviously, MR is a fledling in this thing and appears to be scared to muck up in his first year. He'll have more brass in his lower parts a little later on, but for now, he's not "Going all out" for anyone.

 

Ummm...they aren't wearing a Titans uniform. Maybe we went all out for Clements, but Stallworth? We should have brought him in WAY sooner (for a visit). We wait around too long to start going after the top-notch free agents. Again...Clements may be the exception.

 

Exactly...this is going all-out for someone.

 

Clements took more money from San Fran and Stallworth took less money to go to New England.

and top notch free agents? Clements and Thomas were the only ones.

 

Yeah and no one does that.

I love the three guys we drafted and think they will help enough early to get us through this year fine.
