thats a terrible rule, Hammer. it might work in a communistic canada, but this hur is 'Murica dammit.

LOL ITS almost never correct and chiefs has a h between the c and and I so that throws that outta the window
I before is generally correct except if the root word is German/French based. Which is a lot lol but yea pretty much terrible.
and the list goes on and on and on that proves I before e except after c wrong
To be fair.... Those are all derivatives of one word that bunks the rule. It's typically correct
