Tanney has more chance to avoid a pass rush by spinning out of the pocket than MM, and that's sad. MM is very fast, but not quick and able to sidestep pass rushes. He can take off running with a lane, but has a hard time avoiding the rush.

 

Lmao, I'm not talking talking about running in the open field. I said he can run in the open field. I'm talking about evading defenders to buy time to pass the ball.

Like that play he threw a pick six. You ever see Russell Wilson in a situation like that? He would of put on a rollout spin move, or juke the dude and find a way to create a play. Players like Rodgers, Winston, Taylor, the same thing. Hell, even Johnny Bustball made Orakpo look stupid when he spun away on a kill shot he had on him last year and then threw a bomb for a TD.

Marcus just had a deer in the lights look, lost his composure and back peddled like he's never had to make a move on a defender before in his life.

For an extremely athletic QB with a high IQ, you'd figure he'd do 1 of 2 things in that scenario. Make the smart play and eat the sack or throw the ball in the dirt or put a move on the DE to buy time and make a play or throw the ball out of bounds.

But he did the 1 thing everyone praises him for not doing, gifting the ball to the defense.

So yes, Marcus is super athletic but for some reason he isn't evasive when he is dropped back and pressure is coming to him. If he wants to be a top tier QB in this league, he needs to figure out ways to create something on his own during a broken play or when things aren't drawn up perfectly. At least more often than doing it once or twice a year.

 

so far this week I've learned that our QB pretty much can't do anything. Some real bright minds in here lol.
