Might be worth holding on Gran Turismo until the full version is released next year (if you plan on getting it).

But I'd agree with Kami's list.

    Uncharted
    Ratchet
    Metal Gear
    Resistance
    Motorstorm

    are all top notch.

I just sold mine (again) on ebay. 356(+20 shipping) bucks for the 40g, 2 games, cables, and 1 movie. Not bad.
The wife wants a wii now. She's not in to games but wants a wii. The wii's cute factor is really doing wonders for itself.

I had Ratchet and Clank. It's your typical Crash Bandicoot/Sonic the Hedgehog/Spyro/all other cartoon type games game. If you like those types, it's worth it. Otherwise, it got about 2 hours from me til i got bored with it, but I don't car for those types of games though.

Dark Sector is a game that is really being slept on, and I think half the reviewers that "reviewed" it didnt even play it.

Well, there are a bunch of multi-platform games that you could get if you don't already have on your other system like Assassin's Creed or Rainbow Six Vegas 2. I have both, and neither disappointed at all. My recommendation for Ps3 exclusives to get would be

MGS4 - Really impressed with it. I don't think theres ever been a game with as much overall depth and quality in its genre

Uncharted - Very good game. Good story, good graphics, and satisfying gameplay

I'd pass on Resistance, because once you play COD4, theres no going back to standard FPS.

Multi-platform games you should get are MLB 08, and Dark Sector (Thanks gloat for giving it love) The storyline is not as innovative as alot thought it would be. But its so fun to decapitate your foes. By the end of the game, you feel like a superhero. Not in a forced, bad kind of way.

MLB "The Show" is supposedly the best baseball game out. Wish it was multi-plat. I'd play a baseball game if i could just play superstar mode as it allows.

I had the Show 2007 for PSP, and PS2, couldn't put that thing down. The Superstar mode is absolutely ridiculous.

I have PS3 now but haven't gotten a chance to get the 2008, and don't really see the point. Really the only reason to play The Show is for the Superstar mode, and unless they have upgraded it dramatically, which seems unlikely, then I wouldn't buy it.

    Madden
    NBA Live

    those 2 never fail...

Resistance 2 Is coming out sometime late this year, It's supposed to be able to hold 64 player online games with minimum lag. That might be a game worth buying as well.
