Deangelo hall is 24 year two time probowler who didn't even hit his prime yet. (only going to get better) Gibril Wilson makes the Raiders secondary. Very surehanded tackler that frees up M Huff to play his more natural Fs.

Raiders do have a pass rush. When healthy D Burgess has been one top pass rushers(wasn't healthy in 2007) Kablimba edwards. The guy been exploding off the line of scrimmage. K milliard track record developing speed rushers is quite impressive. See Chris Clemons (nobody) who got a big Fa contract from Eagles. Veteran Greg Spires If he makes team is another guy that can get after the Qb. Trevor Scott- is a raw player but has the speed off the corner you can't teach. Jay Richardson has developed some nice pass rush moves this offseason.
Raiders have two of the best cover Lbs Thomas Howard and K morrison. Many morte lBs that excel in coverage.

NOw Raiders have so much faith in their coverage that it free them to blitz their Lbs. Thomas Howard is one of the fastest Lb in all of football. This Guy is 10 plus sack guy if they let him come after the QB.(Raiders just depend on him so much in coverage)

Only question with rasiders is their run defense. Raiders stop the run and they ewasily are a top five defense.

Going to sound crazy but if you look at their schedule its very weak. 11-5.

Again last year recorfd has shown it has no bearing on the following season. Some teams rise and some teams fall.
    1 people high five this.

I politely disagree with your prediction. You most likely lose to San Diego x2, Patriots, Texans, Denver x1, Tampa, Saints, and buffalo.

8-8 is somewhat likely and very optimistic for the raiders. It could easily be 5-11

-edit- Not trying to be a dick... Its just that your team doesn't look impressive outside of your CBs, and Micheal Huff

FRirst off Raiders were the third ranked defense in 2006 that sliped really far due to injuries. (even that year stopping the run was a problem)
You alluded to why raiders were so bad in sacks. Their inability to stop the run. Why are teams going to challenge your secondary and two of the best cover Lbs(Did Titans LBNs have mored interceptions than these two) when they can run the ball. D burgess raiders best pass rusher was never healthy in 2007. also losing Raiders best Dlineman Tom kelly for the season.(His presence frees up the other players to get the big sack numbers)

Raiders should be alot better stopping the run. Ss Gibril wilson will be playing up in box. NO player has more tackles than this guy in the last four years. Very reliable open field tackler. Big upgrade to Mhuff who was ill suited for SS.

M Huff a big upgrade to S Schweigert(terrible tackler) at FS

Tom Kelly is a big upgrade to W Sapp at Dt in the running game.

I believe raiders will be alot effective this year stopping the run. That is the only question with this defense as they are going to be tough to throw against.

7 wins for a running team is realistic, then the few lucky breaks every team gets and i could see 8 or 9, but that's being optimistic.

So, in your mind, McFadden showed he is light years better than CJ because he ran up the middle. But CJ gets no credit because, even though he ran up the middle, he got a lane to exploit, so he exploited it.

    What?

Do you think the Raiders coaching staff told McFadden to run up the middle and not exploit any lanes? Really?

CJ ran up the middle as well. And he protected the football. The only difference is that when he saw a lane, he exploited it for a 66 yard TD run. Take out that run, McFadden was light years better. Funny thing though, you can't take out that run. It happened. Your welcome.

Again your entitled to your opinion. Only time will tell if i was right or you.
You never heard OF SS Gibril Wilson( big part of superbowl giants sucess) Thomas HOward without a doubt is one of the best coverage LBs in the game. Guy is so effective in coverage they have lined him up at CB on Occassion. Raiders have so much confidence in him that they probably wikll leave him in coverage on chris Johnson man to man. Howard one the fastest Lb in all of football and one best Lbs in the game today. Never heard of Kirk Morrison- another fine coverage LB that does it a little diffrent than howard.

Never Heard OF D Burgess that has been up there with the top pass rushers the last three years. Never Heard OF Tom Kelly- alot of people haven't but this guy is a beast in the middle of their defense and clearly their best dlineman.

    Raiders defense no joke .

I said it on TT I'll say it here:

Have fun with that one ... by that part of the season they are giving the tickets to the homeless in Oakland, getting them drunk and putting Raider T-shirts on them.*

*note while this seems like your typical Raider fan most actually own mobile homes or sleep at the Y.

LIsten Raiders wanted to see Mcfadden run up the Middle in heavy traffic and see him hold onto football. Mcfadden showed excellent burst running up the middle and pretty much gain consistant yardage. Mcfadden did it against 49ers first string defense.

NOw Cj most did his damage against ssecond and third stringers on a bad defense. What did CJ do prior to that big run . Nothing . I didn't see Cj run but wasn't the play designed to go outside that he cut back to the middle. That a big diffrence, than trying to pound it up the middle.(power football)

Mcfadden proved in he was the best RB in the country playing in the toughest conference(sec), while CJ didn't even put up as impressive numbers playing in Conference USa. MCfadden is not a one trick Pony like CJ. He ludcrious to even try to put him in Mcfadden class as a RB.

I've heard of Gibril Wilson. I'm a really big football fan, not just Titans. Admittedly, I only know of Burgess because of Madden. :))

When people argue these things, I think of the cardinals... On paper, they should be a perennial 11-5, 12-4 team. Look at that talent!!. They are mediocre/terrible every year.

We have to wait and see if the Raiders are good or suck. If they're good, its pretty easy for me to say they are. Oakland have made improvements, but do they look better than anyone in the AFC West? Only the Chiefs possibly. In a ok division like the west, thats 7-9.

Good luck this year, but its simple as wait and see.
