Damnit Hoffa. I want to high five that, but I just can't.
After a win, Sandusky would tell his players to find the peppermint stick in his pants pocket...
Not a reach... no mention of Sandusky here. This is aimed only at Penn State..
The Sandusky jokes are going to happen, no one is that niave... and yes it can be argued as "too soon" - not sure what the time frame is for it to not be "too soon" - but my eyebrow was raised by the initial joke which wasn't directly at Sandusky, it was too generalized to the situation, not purely Sandusky.
That is all... not "trolling" at all, it was mainly that first joke that I truly disagreed with... the others will, of course, fall into the Jackson-style jokes. That forst one just made those a bit... worse.
You know what? Truce for a moment... have you read the account of what happened? The full report of what was witnessed and done?
Shortly prior to my first post on here, I had read it... it's bad. It's really, REALLY bad. Angry and nauseous at the same time. Now add to that being a parent and reading it...
If you haven't, you have no idea... seriously...
I will apologize for my immediate, almost visceral response... however... I hope you understand where I'm coming from and why the type of response.
That report is just... terrible... very bad stuff.
It'll be a movie on Lifetime.
Joe Pa will pass within the year and Sandusky won't survive a week in prison.
McQueary... man, I don't know what'll happen with that guy.
I doubt Sandusky makes it to prison. Many men in his situation just kill themselves. I hope he gets there, though. Big name, national media story all about it for all the inmates to see. He might be kept in PC, but someone would get at him.
Pennsylvania is kinda known for its corrupt judges. Im betting there is a Wall Street perp walk before anyone involved in this crap sees the inside of a prison
I agree that child rape is nothing to joke about. As usual Dunce shows his :moon2:..
The 23 page grand jury report is public. Nobody at Penn St. can hide from that.
I have heard a major TV news show this morning (Morning Joe, MSNBC) discussing this, and a couple of the talking heads are starting the drumbeat for Penn State to shut down their program. Death Penalty...
As draconian as that sounds, IMO if you compare this to the SMU situation back in the 1980's, while the specifics of the crimes are different, the seriousness of both situations (note I am talking about institutional response/or lack thereof, NOT the actual crimes) are similar. My prediction here is that a slow drumbeat will start in the not too distant future about this, and, unfortunately, IMO it is warranted (at a minimum a serious discussion on this).
