    Passing TDs: 10 in 2000
Yards per carry allowed: 3.59 in 2000
Yards per pass attempt: 5.92 in 2000
    Total yards: 4151 in 2000

As long as you brought it up - moneyball super genuis wonderboy's D allowed 459 yards - 183 of it on the ground - in the home season finale.

One of them long drives lasted a whopping 3 plays covering 83 yards!

Oh and lets not forget that despite the 14-0 hole MbSGWb's D dug the game was actually competitive so all those yards are quality yards and not garbage yards. Dissappointing to say the least.

IMHO 50% of defense is about attitude. If you have a coach that dosent coach his players up to go out and smack somebody in the mouth then the your D will be soft, but if you have a coach that rides your a$$ all day in practice telling you better lay the wood on sombody on sunday then you are gonna see 2 different players on the field.

Sure stats will get you so far, but where are the stats that say " he would have had 50 more yrds receving today but after he got drilled after his first 5 catches he couldnt hold on to the ball the rest of the day.

I think thats the difference between Williams and Schwartz, Williams was a tough guy, Schwartz is a P*$$*

Is there a difference? He isn't so loyal that he's gonna put his job on the line and risk everything because of a DC. Again, this is Fishers Defense not Schwartz's so people should cry about Fisher now Schwartz.

You still have to have players that can get the job done regaurdless of how pumped up you get or how hard you ride guys at practice. The Colts have the same DC and same coaches as last year and now all the sudden they're good on D after sucking for years. Is it because they ride their players more at practices and get em' fired up even more now, or is it becasue of their off-season additions to the Defense adding better personel?? Hmmmmm, I wonder... :hmm:

Yeah, I'm sure Williams would have this defense playing great.:suspect: Granted, I liked Williams as a coach also but it's not like he tore it up the hole time he was here. He had a couple of mediochre seasons (97' and 98') where his Defense gave up a lot lot of points to teams that weren't so great before going on to the 99' and 00' seasons which were good. Anyone that can't see the difference in talent level between the two really good years and now is blind and in denile and it just shows you that good players make a lot bigger difference than just getting your team fired up.

97 and 98 Tennessee Teams were tough teams on D. They brutalized the O, even when they were overmatched they brought the whole gang on every tackle. They were great fun to watch cause ya at least knew the D was gonna lay some lumber just cause it was sunday.

Heck the O even had attitude in those days, early EG.

Tough at what??? They gave up points and went 8-8. That's not very tough. It's not even above average. As for being great fun to watch, they couldn't sell out games and weren't on television most of the time so, unless you were one of the few that actually went to games I'm guessing you didn't get to watch them very often.

went to every game and yes the stats do not tell the whole story. Those teams took the load to the O. Again they were overmatched on occasion, but they at least blew up people when the chance was there.

You are totally missing the point. If Schwartz's D was playing tough and we have a losing record. I don't think there would be as many complaints. The problem isn't the the record or the losing but the manner in which they have obtained the two. They play intimated, like girls, no attitude. If they were playing tough and hitting we would all be happy, regardless of the outcome. But obviously they are not doing that, hence, the repetitive post criticizing Schwartz.
