FA is barely 24 hours old.
If this team fields a consistent bunch that can play 13-16 games without missing stretches due to injury they will be better off than last season. Worilds alone was never going to be the guy that led the charge to a Super Bowl win.

I won't disagree with your comment. But it does reflect poorly on our GM's ability to guide the media and/or his ability to assess the potential landing of a free agent.

What? how could our GM possibly see this coming. Worilds said he made his mind up recently and wants to focus more on his religion...no one saw that coming

Wish I could re-find the article but it featured comments from another team and how difficult it was to assess FA's - and listed reasons why it is far more of a crap shoot than people might think.
It may be as simple as Worilds giving in to family pressure at this turning point.
I think early retirement can easily be a surprise to everyone involved. Some folks keep those kinds of personal thoughts very close to the chest. We could not know until someone spills some beans - but if that were the case how do you put it on Titans brass?

If you lose Morgan , don't add Worilds and miss out on other FA I don't care how old free agency is - your then overpaying for scraps if you get into bidding wars over injury plagued players like Orakpo

Their in worse shape until something happens - which nothing has

It would have come up in the first phone conversation I'm sure.

Communication is the GM's tool. How would he not know this even if came up recently if he's had an ongoing conversation. And if so, wouldn't LeBeaux know this early as well if he is as beloved by former players as advertised? And even then- if it were sudden news, wouldn't it better for Webster to release info early that we are not aggressively pursuing him?

All those things suggest a disconnect.

Do you really think Webster cares if we know whether or not he is pursuing him? They probably talked on Saturday and Jason said that he might retire. Webster probably said ok, let us know if you are not going to. He has never released info to us for anything ever, why would he now? No GM does that or really cares. Itll come out when it does, he has more important things to worry about than whether or not we know who he is talking to
