Japan Earthquake/Hawaii Tsunami

They are truly brave individuals. But I hope you do not mean the congressional Medal of Honor that is awarded to our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines for heroic acts in combat.

 

Do not mean that....mean whatever the Japanese civilian equivalent to it.

 

Just heard the Japanese may have to pour concrete to contain the radiation.

 

That is correct, and is what was done a Chernobyl.

At least they have backup power back now, and are getting fresh water back into some of the reactors.

Most experts think that this will wind up being worse than Three Mile Island but not as bad a Chernobyl as far as radiation fallout is concerned.

Also heard today that Chernobyl is now being marketed as a tourist attraction, although you are only limited to one day there....just twisted.

 

saw on TV that wildlife around Chrnoble is thriving. No hu-mans around screwing with them. No reports of 3 eyed fish - yet.

 

I wonder if they'll give the Mr Burns congratulations speech:

"Your bravery and quick thinking turned a potential Chernobyl into a mere Three Mile Island."

He should have warned them about how stupid it is to build a nuke plant in a known earthquake zone without redundant backup systems in place.
