Japan Earthquake/Hawaii Tsunami

Horrible tragedy. Read in the Tennessean that Hawaii is getting 3ft waves right now.

 

I'm sure the sirens woke him.

A few people I know in Kona and Honolulu said that low lying areas were evacuated but they didn't know if there was any damage yet. It's still dark. Another friend of mine who's there on vacation texted saying she's sitting in a hallway on the 7th floor of her hotel.

 

Had a tsunami alert in Taiwan earlier.... just been lifted

 

I've got a friend living in Hawaii, she says she lost cell phone reception, but other than that she's okay. That was an hour ago.

BBC shows south America and Mexico will probably take the worst of tsumani, but luckily it should be spread out over a wide area so the energy should not be that huge at any one point. 3 foot waves in Hawaii could be higher than some Pacific islands. At least with modern technology there is some warning time.
