I don't want to sound like I'm not rooting for Taylor Thompson, I am hoping for the best with him! I have not seen a whole lot to be excited about other than his blocking. I hope he puts it all together this year and becomes a duel threat.

Doyle hasn't ever played a game?

If you are counting preseason go ahead and stop.

Thompson is faster and more athletic. 3x better blocker.

His biggest knock is route running and catching.

He did both fine in preseason when he had the chance.

He was usually to busy busting LBs heads at FB though.

I'd be surprised if he caught half that.

We spent a 5th on him right?

He as good as blocker as Stevens, if not better. If he becomes a passing threat, it's icing

The Colts have two excellent young TEs in Fleener and Allen. The likelihood of Doyle ever seeing the field against us as a TE is pretty slim at best.

Thompson is an elite blocking TE, Doyle not so much.

They are similar though so it wont surprise me to see Doyle take a year to start showing signs of an NFL talent.

And no, he wasn't a 5th rounder, Doyle wasn't even drafted. Unless youre talking about Thompson who was a 5th rounder.

If Taylor Thompson is so great, why didn't he get many passes thrown his way in the preseason? Doyle got more balls thrown his way and Thompson played pretty late into a most of the preseason games. Does Thompson have any TD catches at all? Any against future Waffle House employees? Loggins is probably just saving Thompson for the regular season right? Don't want to let our secret pass-catching cat out of the bag just yet!
