    Rolltide..

It was mentioned in the Tennessean. He pointed out Vince's "limitations" as a problem with him learning the playbook and Heimerdinger would not have the freedom of changing game plans each week like he's been able to do with Cutler.

Limitations? as in 6 on the wonderlick. There's no doubt that Vince is a little slow, but coming out there and bashing him like on TV that was typical Hodgie-talk.

I also would like to watch that clip. Does anyone have a link?

It's nice to have Dinger back. But, now they can't stop. They have to continue to by giving him, and Vince, help by drafting or signing a few impact players on the offensive side of the ball.

    Then we'll be in business.

Pit, maybe you are right. Here are some of those comments about vince and the mental part of the game. Pretty damned vicious and hateful if you ask me...

Hoge talking on a Nashville sports talk show Hoge questioned whether Young knows the playbook well enough to run the offense effectively. Hoge was very outspoken, as usual, but in these comments noted that much of the Titans problems on offense centered on Young's lack of progression to develop as a thinker in the huddle and also seems to very seriously question his grasp of an NFL offense. Hoge noted that Vince wants to win more than anyone on the team, but that he believed that he could do it on ability alone and that in this league, the talent gap is closed by the thinkers of the game and the intelligence of the players. Hoge said that Young often called the wrong plays with the wrong formations, or when he did call the wrong play and caught it, he was confused as to what to do and didn't call timeout, resulting in a busted play.

Why is "hoge" in bright red? Because i edited those portions. It wasn't hoge calling vince a ******* it was kevin mawae.

    Case closed?

I really don't see what Mawae has to do with our discussion over whether Hoge was personally attacking Vince, or if he was simply providing an analyst's 'professional' opinion.

For what its worth, there might be some truth to his "limitations", and both have been aggressively vocal about it.. Hoge largely.

A better method of (Hoge) pointing it out was to criticize VY's 'dedication' and 'willingness' to put more time in learning the playbook, rather than calling him a brickhead and a lost cause. Some people are smarter than 'others', but that doesn't make the 'others' useless. The 'others' can improvise by putting twice as much time into revising, studying and working harder to reach the same level (if not better) of the smart people.

Thats just the way God created us.. A small percentage of people are naturally better learners, and have better memories. Then there are the normal people like you and I whose career and future rely on how dedicated we are (to reach the places we want). Then comes poor Vince and others like him who are naturally "simple" and always seem to be dazed and in their own world. Ofcourse, people like that can easily make up for their shortcoming by working twice as hard..

The point I'm trying to make is that instead of labeling Vince "useless" because of his "weakness" (if you may), Hoge could instead point out that Vince "could" be fine and should be able to cope with Heimerdinger changing the playbook each week.. but he'll have to work much, much harder than he currently is. Instead he automatically ruled him out as a lost cause.

Last year Hoge was criticizing Vince's game style.. and frankly that was fine; but now he has taken it to the next level and is clearly attacking Vince (as a person) by calling him dumb.
