Almost everybody believes Jeff Fisher is a great coach. Especially from media types you hear nothing but praise about the guy. He is well respected in those circles.
Please vote for what you think comes closest to what he should be considered and explain why.

Too stubborn to be a great head coach. He has the ability to be a great coach, but as someone already mentioned, he refuses to change it up when necessary, and being right about Vince Young was more important to him than winning football games.

No. Cuz at the moment he's simply an ex-football coach.

Does a superbowl appearance and 6 winning seasons out of 16 seasons make a coach ONLY average? (And a bunch of 8-8 seasons)

Certainly Fisher was below average in some of the last few years, and I agree with the "was good but forgot to evolve" comment.

If there were more poll choices I would've voted between average and good. Since there was not, I went with good given his overall body of work. Again he was certainly better in the early 2000s as opposed to the late 2000s.

    Average.

Hell of a coach from '99-'03. Very few mistakes along the way in those 5 seasons.

He is somewhere between good and average for me. I never bought the hype about him being a great coach. With any other organization he would not have lasted anywhere close to 16 seasons.

What he was great in was figuring out how to play the old man.
