I haven't forgotten.. Those jukes. Masterpieces of running.
Emmitt Smith had a little bit of game like that during his prime as well.

Earl was a beast but his stats are overshadowed by CJ's his first two seasons too.

I didn't realize they didn't play 16 games in 1999. There's a difference between APY and yards from scrimmage, too. And the yards from scrimmage record is pretty important.

For me it's not a stat thing, it's an eyeball test. Earl was the best, most dominating RB I've seen since I've started watching (early seventies). Sanders and Dickerson are definitely also in the conversation. IMO, Smith and Payton while amazing players with incredible longevity, were never the dominating forces that Campbell and Dickerson were. It's cool that CJ's play warrants a conversation like this... it'll be interesting to see if that's the case five years from now... I hope so.

This comparison is not even close to fair. Jackson is a one-dimensional player. Johnson excels at nearly all aspects of rushing -- outside runs, short yardage, receiving out of the backfield, etc. He is close to a complete back. I'll grant that he isn't the best at inside runs, but he is still above average.

I always thought that the Titans ran Eddie into the ground and that's essentially what they will do to C.J. in the future...

    Just an opinion.

His short yardage success is all our O-line though. I really wonder how good he'd be on any other team.

I still say Spiller, McCluster, etc... plant any of them behind our line and they'd get 1500.

If he hits 2000 again this year I'll have to yes. I'm fairly young so I haven't seen most of the "greats" actually play.

RBs don't dominant the league like they once did. So if CJ can do it in a pass happy era he'll be the greatest I've seen. Intresting to think about...

pshh. Barry cant even break a tackle, all he does is put on lousy juke moves.

And I don't know what you're talking about...put on some NFL Network and listen to them break down CJ. Everyone there agrees he's far and away the best RB in the NFL. I think you're the only one who really says otherwise

EDIT: That first part was meant to be a joke busting Gloats balls, in absolutely no way meant to actually be disrespectful to The Great One. Barry was an absolute beast with a football in his hands. Shame he couldn't have played for a great team
