    The problem with that thinking is that with free agency you don't have years to wait for a guy to produce. You can't be paying a guy $8M and have him on the bench and you don't want just a year or 2 of good production before his contract is up.

    Terrible examples by the way. Rivers and romo were great in their 2nd seasons even though they didn't play in their first seasons and we have no idea what rogers is going to do since he didn't play a lick. What we have seen are QBs who start poorly and never get good like carr and harringto. Do they just need more time?

    So let me get this right. If VY had his #1 WR and his #1 TE he would have lit it up, thrown for 300+ yards and 4 TDs?

    I agree they are bad examples. But, for different reasons. Look at who Rivers had in his 2nd year: Gates, LT, McCardell (I think). And Romo had TO, Glenn, and Witten.
    What #1 WR and what #1 TE? The weapons sucked, the scheme sucked, and so VY stunk. That and he was an injured 2nd year QB.
