Special teams is a part of the game, 1/3 of it in fact.

Having guys who can play quality snaps on defense and special teams at the same time is ideal, but having specialists isn't a bad thing either.

Getting core special teamers late in the draft is considered hitting on picks when the vast majority of late rounders turn into real estate agents.

Tommie Campbell would be the kind of guy who deserved to be called out. He offered absolutely nothing as a DB and did stupid **** on special teams.

Its not really 1/3 tho, lot more offensive and defensive snaps, but your point is valid

How many games have we lost because of crappy special teams plays? They might be fewer snaps, but they are just as significant.

You are more than allowed to call out anyone you want. However with a roster that could upgrades in a lot of spots, its very odd to pick a situational player. It makes no sense to me.

I understand your point. You want players that can compete with the starters. That can be said for at least 15 other spots on the team.

    Its just an odd choice.

The race comment was just silly.

Pretty sure Klug is liked because he's been almost as productive as the starters with fewer snaps. He does his job when he's in there.

He's a back up/depth/situational player and he does pretty good at it. In fact if he was much better he'd surpass the starters for the last couple of years.

If there was a back up that had 10 sacks a season, that would be great because that means the starters were even better... But that just doesnt happen.

Oh, and of course everyone likes the color of his skin...

BTW, I read that Mularkey had a personal meeting with Justinf Hunter. Basically told him he needed to stop being a ***** and play ball like a big boy. (Maybe not in those words)

So Hunter has been called out personally by the coach. Let's see how that goes.

I would think that anyone on the Oline, WR Group, RB Group, Secondary, & LBers would be a safe call out after the 2015 season.

However, calling out a back up (Regardless of his skin color) who produces when he has a chance is not a real call out. Every team has rotational Dline men. Guys who are not quite up to starter level; but get in the line up because the starter needs a breather. A guy like Klug has made some plays I those limited spots. That's why everyone says do not cut him. Most guys in those positions do not make big plays like sacks. At least Klug is making some. He is not putting up big numbers. However, I do not see anyone who is waiting in the weeds to replace him & perform better. Nor do I see anyone who we could sign right now & have more production from. Could he improve, absolutely. But for what he is asked to do; he is contributing. Everyone wishes we had future starters backing up every position. The truth is that just does not happen for most teams.

His race SHOULD never have been brought up. It is petty and ignorant. If the guy contributes it does not matter if he is purple with a pink pin stripe.
