Yea, not 'hating' on Burfict or Mathieu, but sometimes falling like that is exactly what you need.

qb is the most important position on the field and is our worst field position, why would we not take a qb. It would be a horrible move if the fo doesn't take a early qb. We got rid of our underperforming coaches now its time to fix the qb spot. Even if jake does well with a early draftee behind him we could use him as leverage in the next draft. We just can't go in with fitznasty and jake the break as our qbs and expect any better than we got last year.

So if Bortles, Bridgwater and Manziel are all off the board before we pick(a distinct possibility) we should take the fourth-best QB in the draft versus the best player at position X?

That's how bad franchises stay bad.

That's assuming we think those are the top 3 QB's. IDC if we draft a QB in the first round every year until we get it right but we need to cause no team is successful with a garbage QB.

Imo no we don't take the fourth best, only because I don't see franchise potential in anyone else. But if the fo thinks otherwise they should.get their guy first. So then I would take bpa. But if we think one of those guys is "the guy" we should trade up and get him at all costs

I'm sure that is exactly how the vikings were thinking when they reached for Christian Ponder.

I'm not saying we need to reach for a guy. If our guy isn't there we can do whatever, but if they look over the available qbs and decide one of them is "the guy", yes they can "reach" for the guy and trade up. No they don't need to get a guy like ponder with a 2nd round grade in the first, yes that would be stupid.

I saw johnny throw from the pocket and read defenses plenty and he did not have the talent around him that murray had. Not even close between Murray and Johnny stats. Now murray can be had in the 4th round vs johnny no later than the number 4 pick and there are lots of reasons for that.
