If we Lose to Miami is the season OVER?

I for one would rather go 0-16, or 1-15 and have a top 3 pick in the draft than go 7-9. We need another playmaker among other things. Big time WR would be perfect. Considering the past 2 seasons this season comes as NO SURPRISE to me. Season was over before it even started.

yee of little faith. I seem to recall a Warren Moon lead 1993 Oilers team that started 1-4 and chicken littles had sold everyone but the team on the falling sky theory. I am realistic but optimism is nice too. It has not only happened in the past it has happened to this organization.

I'd say it would look pretty damn bleak at 0-3. And I'd start looking to the draft. If we start 0-3, and end up with a top pick, we will become a highly visible franchise with Young at qb, White at rb, pac man at cb, and trading brady quinn for another mega star/rookies. Things would look extremely bright and upbeat. This is how you build a championship team. If you are going to lose, you lose big. And at 0-3, losing to teams in disarray like Miami, and NY would be demoralizing. No way to recover from that unless we start Young in game 4.

 

Let's not overlook the 2002 Titans. Seriously, get real. )

But in 1993 we had Buddy Ryan, we lead the NFL in run defense (73 yards per game), lead the AFC in fewest points allowed (238), lead the conference in interceptions (26), set a team record for quarterback sacks and scored six defensive touchdowns. I miss that defense. Oh well.

We also overcame several preseason problems. Jeff Alm killed himself. Lorenzo White was overweight. Drew Hill left the team. New "Conservative" offense and new agressive defense. And we had to recover from the infamous Buffalo game. So 1-4 was reasonable. I don't think it is this year. We do not have what the '93 team had, talent

my comment that if we lose this week our playoff hopes are essentially over are due to Collins being the QB not anything to do with a team climbing out of a 0-3 start....

i guess the 0-3 start (2 of which against subpar, non-playoff teams) combined with collins starting makes no hope of the playoffs ...
