Tennessee got a respectable 2nd place in SEC East by putting up a 7-6 record, correct? No considerable drop off or anything.. right. LOL UK was stoked about potentially getting 2nd place in the SEC East. How do you get hype about getting 2nd place.

The discussions aren't UT vs.(it's been an off decade for us), they're SEC vs. whoever, so I have every right to defend the conference. Plus I highly doubt any of you on here are actually Texas fans, Gloat's a Michgan man (poor sap), Eddy I believe you're another Big 10 fan (Ohio State?, ha) and Erick likes Louisville.

I don't see where any of you have much allegiance is any of this, but whatever, so before you start talking about riding coat tails you better consider yourself first.

Putting words in my mouth, doesn't surprise me.

I'm not excited about a 7-6 record and have no reasons to be be flaunting UT, I'm not that stupid. The next couple of years are going to be interesting for UT due to all the turnover, it's something many UT fans aren't used to considering all the stability that Fat Phil gave us. I have high hopes.

First off, why is it funny I like Ohio State? You'd kill to even make a Rose Bowl.

Secondly, why do you feel the need to defend the SEC? Why do you care? You are not a fan of Alabama, Florida or LSU so why flaunt their success? I would never be post pictures or high five a post showcasing Michigan and or Penn State winning a national championship. Which goes back to my original point, your riding the coat tails of the top SEC teams because Tennessee isn't very good. Do you really think an Alabama fan cares what people think about the SEC? I know if OSU won the national championship next year I could care less what people might say about the Big 10.

Many fathers in the south teach their children to always root for southern teams. If you yankee types disagree with this, go ask our daddies.

Haha, did I hurt your feelings there little buddy? Looks like I did find your allegiance. I laugh because Ohio State needs to quit choking against those puny SEC schools. What are you all like 0-9 against the SEC now? Just saying!

The SEC is continually bashed by the likes of those who for whatever reasons feel the need to downplay it's recent success. Sure I'm a UT fan first and foremost, but the Southeastern Conference is something of a family. I know hundreds of people who are Gators, Rebels, Games, Commodores, Bleed Crimson etc. that love to give each other a hard time during the season, talking trash and just generally being a pain in the @$$. However, there is a common ground that is true amongst them all in that they always cheer for an SEC squad over any one else because there is a certain sense of pride and loyalty. It's like someone else picking on your brother besides you. IDK maybe it's a southern thing or maybe your an only child, who knows. Call it what you want and I just wish you weren't so narrow minded to think that I'm cheering for Alabama when I have to refute your asinine points, I'm simply defending the integrity of the SEC. Go Vols!

If it's not the championship, it doesn't matter..it might as well be an exhibition game. Rose Bowl holds about as much weight as the Music City Bowl.

Sounds like talk from someone who didn't make a BCS game.

Fine but don't use teams like Alabama and Florida to belittle other teams when your own true team isn't that good.

As for the newspaper. I was curious as to how old it was but if USC beating Northwestern was an upset back then I guess that answered my question. And yes OSU has had trouble with SEC teams but if you look at a lot of head to head games the Big 10 has done pretty well overall against the SEC, they have a winning record I do believe.
