Well it depend but we have no reason to believe the Hunter sucks rather then he is just not one of our four best receivers. Britt and Wright are both first round picks. Washington is a good number 2 receiver who has incidentally been our leading receiver for the last two seasons. Even Damian Williams is a high draft pick who has had a great offseason/preseason this year. It's not like he is being beaten out by Jim Nobody from Whothehellcares University.

If Hunter were to play this season he would most likely get about 500-600 yards and 4 TD's which isn't horrible for a rookie WR on a run based team.

And as for good receiver's who weren't game changers from day one:
Roddy White -- Average his first two seasons start breaking 1000 yards in year 3

Hines Ward -- Average his first 3 seasons and started breaking 1000 yards in year 4

Derrick Mason -- Nonexistent his first 3 season and started breaking 1000 yards in year 5

Terrell Owens -- Average his first year. Second year put up number 2 stats. Became a beast in year 3.

Marvin Harrison -- Average his first two seasons. Injured his third year. Started breaking 1000 yards in his 4th year.

Well.. I guess he's not the next Juilo Jones or A.J. Green.

Here's to hoping that he's the next Derrek Mason. :beerbang:

Dressing 4 receivers would be very idiotic and I'm not sure why Munchak would even entertain this idea. We better dress 5, and I hope that 5th is Hunter. He needs to be on the field, even if he doesn't play much. 34th overall inactive?

I can understand sitting Hunter for now though.. our #5 WR will mostly be used for special teams purposes, and that can win or lose a ballgame. Preston is much more comfortable playing special teams, and less of a loss if he gets injured.

I think you are right. Preston will probably dress as the fifth like xpmar9x said

Munch may have some tough gameday roster decisions to make with Big Country questionable but, any way you want to look at it, it's very disappointing Hunter won't be active.

I was hoping we'd see a handful of routes just for Hunter to stretch the field.

I'm fine with him sitting this one out. He's a rookie at a position we have a lot of depth in. Let him see how to prepare for games the right way etc. By week 3 or so I bet he's on the field making big plays for us.

    O
I hear you but it would be one thing if they suited him up but to not throw deep to him in pre season at all and then not suit him up is disappointing.
