and i've read that does not void the warranty.
from what i've read it does not
now, I need to learn how to install Linux on it
... and why i would want to do such a thing
why would you want to install linux?
and there's an option on the home page to install OS's on the PS3.
^ yo do realize that you just aske me the question that i just asked ?
from what I hear Linux is the OS of choice to install
I'm not sure OSX or XP would take
... but if it does ... I'll have me a mini mac 3!!!
why would someone want to install such a thing (i ask again)
I do realise that. I meant it. I wasn't sure if you meant to ask why you would do that since you seemed like you were going to install Linux once you learned how.
As for why one would want to install an OS. I have no idea, I have a computer and it's enough for me, I don't need another.
it seems to be pretty popular thing to do, as people have ben doing it on the Xbox1 since the month it came out
Then go with the flow?
you know that's just not my style
but IF it enhances the usability of the device in some way (considering it's not getting alot of gaming done on it), I'd like to see what all the fuss is about
which leads me back to
"Why would I want to do such a thing"
there HAS to be some cool techy plot as to why modders have gone to considerable measures to hack machines in order to install Linux on them
maybe they've figured out a way to play PC games like World of Warcraft,etc... on it ... who knows ? it'd be interesting to know
Fedora Linux running on the PS3
