Let's talk about this year. The SEC has two teams in the final rankings above the best Big 10 team. The SEC has the undefeated national champions, Alabama. Florida beat undefeated Cinci in a blowout, so Florida's only loss was to the national champion. Pretty easy to make an argument that the two best teams in the country are from the SEC. Ohio State beat Oregon in the bowl, a team that lost to Boise State. It's very possible the best Big10 team is not as good as a WAC team. Michigan State lost to Texas Tech. Northwestern lost to Auburn. Earlier someone mentioned those two as "good" big10 teams. Minnesota lost to Iowa State. Penn State did beat LSU by 2 points. Wisconsin did beat Miami by 6 points. So overall, the Big 10 was 3-3 in bowl games. The SEC was 6-4 in bowl games. So not only did the SEC have 4 more teams qualify for bowl games than the Big10, they actually have a better win percentage than the Big 10 in bowl games THIS YEAR. In conclusion, again THIS YEAR, the SEC was the best conference in the country, and the big10 still sucks and isn't even close to the 2nd best conference in the country. Thanks for playing.
