How the Titans can F over the ponies/cows & Roger

Decrease the number of divisions. Easier said than done, of course, but it would make games more relevant.

Assuming you want even numbers, 4 divisions... 2 in each conference, 8 in each division. Winner of the divisions get the Bye and home field in playoffs. Other teams vying for all the other plaoff spots, all wildcards.

The teams that didn't win the division but still did well get a chance to play their division's champ for the opportunity to play in the conference championship.

Easier said than done...

 

I like the idea. It's just that the season is just too short. They'd only get to play other teams in the division once.

if every team played the exact same schedule maybe you'd have an argument, but no. Division winners need a playoff spot.otherwise mght as well scrap divisions and just have two conferences.

 

decreasing divisions or making playoff entry based solely off record is stupid. the way it is now makes winning the division a priority. take that away and the rivalries lose some of their appeal. every year some lowball division sends a loser in, it's fine. if they really suck the playoffs will push them out

 

6 divisions, 6 team divisions, East, Central, West.
