How Should The Titans Address the WR Position?

SI's Peter King warns that the Titans are not out of "the Torry Holt derby."
Holt was said to be finalizing a deal with the Jags over the weekend, so the Titans would have to swoop in with an offer at the last minute. Their interest in Holt has been steady, but they're also leery of overpaying.

 

Did you also hear King say that he thought Boldin could be had for a high 2nd or low 1st? I've thought from the beginning the Cards were being greedy. If we could get Boldin with our 1st and get him to sign a two year extension at an average of 7.5 million per year with 15 mil guaranteed, I would make that deal. That's Patriots gamesmanship there, not some Jerry Jones sucker deal like he made for Williams. The wise franchises never overpay for anyone.

The REASON Boldin wants out is because he wants 10mil a year...not to continue to play for his current contract. If we can't sign him to a long term deal to his liking, we wont do it just as we didnt make the Holt deal.

Agreed. I'm just saying it wouldn't hurt anything to ask, and that would be my final offer to the Cards and to Boldin. You never know what they might say. Randy Moss was acquired for a 4th rounder and has a very reasonable 15million guaranteed contract.

 

According to the Chicago Sun Times, "word is" the Rams will select UNC WR Hakeem Nicks if he's available with the 35th pick overall.

 

That's about like saying the Lions would select Jesus if he's available with the 1st pick overall.

 

Thats like saying if we want him we better pick him at #30 i doubt he would make it 2 picks into the 2nd round.
