    Post Don Shula era..
How many "Fire-Sale" coaches - or even coaches that once led a really good team (consistent deep playoff contenders) , then endured the cellar only to turn it around completely in three years or less -all with the same team?

    Cowher maybe?

Billick never endured the cellar and if they don't top the Bengals and Steelers this year he's done..

After they won the supebowl, they didn't make the playoffs and then had to cut a lot of players due to cap.

Fair enough but I'm trying to reference more of the type situation that The Titans are in.. The Ravens finished 3rd here and there due to injuries etc. but they never dumped Jamal Lewis, Ray Lewis etc...

Seems to me Shananhan had several "down" years after old horseface (Elway) retired. One would have to say he managed to rebuild, maybe not to the SB level of the last few elway years but still into a top AFC team.

Remember before Coughlin went to the Giants that locker room was a mess, they were undisiplined, troubles off the field as well.
He's turned them around for the better.

Cowher is the model I'm trying to hold onto with patience. Even he needed to get LeBeau in there to bring back the blitz.
