Everybody throbs on Annie Lucks nuts (probably his biggest QB rival in AFC South), and he has been a pretty pedestrian quarterback. 57% on completions, 46 TDs to 27 INT's and 14 fumbles over 2 years. Who else are we competing against in our division that scares you? Locker is going to have a break out year this year.

I have been a titans/oilers fan since mc9 came into the league. I don't disagree that he wasn't very good out of the gate. But, he did carry this team to victories a lot, not just 02 03. he did also have a solid d and running attack that we could also lean on.
As for locker, he just doesn't have it, that's my opinion. I didn't feel the same way in the beginning with mc9 (I was only 7 or 8 when he came into the league and became a oilers fan because of him), maybe I would have been wrong and felt the same way about him as I do locker. locker is always hurt and cannot carry this team on his back for even a quarter. he does have a tremendous amount of athletic/big play ability and I really hope I'm wrong. when we drafted him I thought for sure we got our guy, but he's shown very little in his time here. I would be willing to bet that the guy who the browns drafted (that we should have taken), will have as many wins in one year as locker has had in 3

A lot of that was Jeff Fisher refusing to let McNair loose. Fisher kept the lid so tight on him. To his credit Fisher did loosen up and learn to trust McNair more later in his career. Which led to the MVP season. Early on though the biggest things Fisher instilled into McNair was not to make any mistake and that there is nothing wrong with a field goal or punt.

In the 54 year this franchise has been in existence there has only been one QB who even comes close to them. Not easy to get.

We could've won that Texans game if Locker didn't overthrow an easy pass to Britt. That mistake right there was when i started getting fed up with Locker. Not only the injuries but the accuracy issues.Make no mistake about it if Mettenberger comes out throwing well in training camp and has a good preseason it won't be long before he overtakes Locker as starter. All its going to take is Locker having a few bad games and the coaching staff will put Mettenberger in as starter and if that happens i don't think Locker will get another chance he will be done as starter here.

Of course it's not. Doesn't mean for a second Mc9 should be the bar for this franchise. That would be silly.

Fair enough. We should want more. However if someone that good does come along then that will be good enough. The last two QBs to win a Super Bowl are not as good as McNair was. Eli Manning and Ben Rothlesberger are not any better than McNair and each has two Super Bowls.

Yeah, I get that-- but they are very rare. We can win with Locker. Not much standing in our way at the moment. Houston is going to be a nightmare defensively, and the Colts do not worry me at all. We should of won both against the ponies last year. Our team has improved from a coaching standpoint and a players standpoint. Hell we improved through subtraction. I will reserve my judgement until midseason or so on Locker. I think he can be good if healthy. He has one more shot from me.

I would argue burger is better/more consistent. Eli, streaky, declining and very team based. Hard to win like that and takes some big time luck
