I hereby amend any previous post of mine... His leash runs directly until week 17 of this season, or until his season ends due to injury. It's 100 percent clear that Whisenhunt expects for the job to be his. They have a cupcake and a late rounder behind him... that means their hope resides in him. Putting a 6th round QB and a person who hasn't played in 2 years behind him is not "pushing" him in any way. He won't get replaced this season unless he really, really stinks. Just realized this thread is about how many games he can miss and get an extension.. I think Whisenhunt likes him. I wouldn't be surprised to see them extend him on a dirt cheap backup deal if he fails. If he didn't see something in him, he'd already be the backup this year.
