Hated the fact that the Tennessee Titans let Matt Hasselbeck go, and to a division rival. Great locker room and field leader, great mentor to Jake Locker and really had great momentum heading into the 2012 season. He also had a hell've of a pre season game on Sunday.

I do however like the Fitzpatrick signing since the former Bills QB a short time ago signed a mega deal, put up some great numbers during his time in Buffalo, is a younger product than Hasselbeck, and really think that toward the middle of the year he could be under center either turning the season around for us, or helping us get into the post season.

It is too bad though that Matt couldn't finish his career in Nashville. I think that if Locker sat for another year in 2012 behind Hasselbeck, that really could've helped him so much more.

Indy loves old washed up vets. Hass was finnished, best of luck to him, but Fitz is better at this point.

Ideally for both teams neither of these guys see the field. Who cares?

I've always believed that Fitzy was underrated in Buffalo. He's a dude who can actually throw the football accurately, though he struggled with decision making a bit. He is a guy who can sling the ball around for 4,000 yards and 25 TDs in a season, even with iffy WRs. He was hardly the biggest problem in Buffalo, and he might be the best QB on our roster when it comes to throwing the football.

We have much more talent than Buffalo did. If he could get 7 wins with Buffalo, he might be able to get 9-10 with us.

I thought that he was underrated as well especially considering that he was throwing an average of 25 TD's/4000 yards in a season during his four years in Buffalo.During that timespan Buffalo had a record of 22-44 with one of the worst defenses in the league pretty much every season.Fitzpatrick was blamed for the team not winning and was made the scapegoat and let go.However there was no way he could've led Buffalo to many victories with the defense giving up points the way they were.It was less than two years ago that Buffalo signed him to a deal worth $59 million over six years, including $24 million in guaranteed money. He joined them in 2009 so he had already been there two years when they decided to pay him.The bottom line is the Bills could've fixed their defense and kept Fitzpatrick but they didn't.

Fitz > Hasselbeck (right now, not overall) and he comes at a cheaper price. He's also 7-8 years younger than MH which obviously means he'll be around a lot longer. The move made a lot of sense and I, personally, liked it.

If MH had been willing to play for less, we would've kept him. I'm pretty sure he was due a ridiculous amount this season and we asked him to take a pay cut. He wasn't willing to go low enough, so we cut him.

Fitzpatrick never threw for 4000 yards. He had 2 really good RBs at Buffalo and a good offensive line. His Wrs and TEs were mediocre but not terrible.

He had the last 3 seasons as a starter to take his game to a high level and did not. His average passing rating the last 3 seasons was 82. That's backup caliber.
If just throwing for lot's of yards made a QB good then Kerry Collins is hall of fame material.

That said both Fitz and hass are about the same quality so it's all about age. Hass is at an age when you expect him to decline and fitz is not.

The Bills were poor on defense the last 4 seasons averaging 25th in scoring defense and 23rd in total defense but the offense had comparable rankings finishing an average of 23rd in scoring offense.

23rd is what you get with a backup QB.

Yeah- they especially like to grab ours. How'd Collins work out for them?
