Whichever one I saw was one of the first 1-2, I'm pretty sure. Where the tree takes the car? That's about all I remember of the movie. And some Phoenix thing at the end that was really gay.
(seen various scenes of it since)

I think you have to have read the books to like the movies. I listened to all the audio books while I run, so the movies are something to put to it. They are great stories with a ton of imagination. Even the movies are pretty good IMO.

Can't bring myself to it, personally.Kind of like reading a 500 page book of Curious George.
I liked CG a lot as a kid, but today it'd be pretty pointless.

Plus, Harry is kind of a loser for a hero.

Oddly, I think you have to not read the books to like the movies. I don't see how anyone who reads the books can be satisfied with the movies. They all cut out so much great stuff from the books...
    1 people high five this.

i heard on the radio that a guy in ohio killed himself b/c he was in the mall and heard a spoiler for the movie , he left a note that said he had nothing else to live for. I promise i am not making this up. My local radio station does a segment called trash on the table and this was one of their stories

Good point, but I meant you have to have read the books to be at all interested.

The only other problem is a lot from the books you know in the movie and if you hadn't read the books some of it won't make sense.
