Dag tho. 5 fumbles. I forgot about those other three. That just shows you how bad it could have been.

These comments might mean more to me if it came from someone besides Nick Harper, but he does speak from experience.

It makes me wonder about the end of the season. We were a better team in the first half of the year. In hindsight, I wonder if it had made any difference if we'd taken the Colts game more seriously and played our starters at least 3 quarters. Fisher and the team could've hyped the game for the fact it would've given the team the best record in Titans (and Oilers?) history.

At the time, I agreed with resting our starters and sitting our injured players. Just wonder if it actually would've made a difference.

then we would've been 14-2 and still exited the playoffs against the Ravens, who own us in Nashville.

You are right. I could have SWORN there was another pick for some reason.
But unless KFC knew that there was nowhere to go on that play and tried to throw it out of the back of the end zone, it was a boneheaded pass.
He blatantly lobbed it way up in the air. Now if he did it on purpose knowing that if a defender intercepted it and didn't go anywhere, would yield better results than a punt, then so be it. But he also risks Ed Reed intercepting it and running it back for at the least good field position, if not a TD.
If he is going to do that, at least try to throw it accurately to a WR and at least let the R make a play on it.

    Well...

Collins took a chance on that play. He knew he had single coverage all over the field and gambled on lobbing it up to the deepest WR. His two other options were to stand in and throw the ball to BJ (I think) who was running an in underneath the deeper WR he lobbed it to. BJ was open right away. Collins could also have thrown it over everyone's heads and not been called for intentional grounding. He took a shot and they got it. Ya can't kill him for taking a shot there 1 on 1. At some point you have to try and make them pay for bringing the house.

I don't think Crumpler is a guy Harper is talking about. Crumpler hasn't fumbled since something like 2005 before this and by all accounts is a very professional player. I think Harper WAS referring to JMac and White. While White is not typically a fumbler either, he's soft and thinks it's fine. I could see him dogging it in practice and not having as much intensity as he should. JMac lived in the Jets doghouse for a reason.

I think he was also referring to the team in general in terms of not being disciplined enough with the penalties. Even our most experienced vets hurt us with both KVB and Kearse jumping offsides!

This team was not only good enough to win the Superbowl, but SHOULD have! We have more talent than any team left, have beaten both the Ravens and Steelers and would crush the Eagles or Cards. They didn't get it done...and next year will be harder!

Yes we can (kill him for taking that shot), for several reasons.
    1. How successful have we been (other than Gage intermittently) with deep routes this year? Honestly
    2. KFC has made blitzers pay dearly before w/o using deep passes. In fact, I remember a couple from earlier this year where he hit Scaife and (you guessed it) B. Jones underneath for substantial gains.
    3. B. Jones was not and has not been on the field near enough for my tastes.
Even though I know it's not completely true, or even partially, I'd like to think that if B. Jones and Hawk had been in more formations (vice JMac), we'd have had a better record.

As mentioned, with the exception of Gage (only intermittently), we are not a successfuly deep passing team. Fish needs to draft a playmaker/burner WR or just stop trying deep passes altogether. With our WR corps, he's neither scaring nor fooling anyone with those.
Do you not think for one second that other teams don't know our WR corps sucks, especially when it comes to deep routes?

Of those, I think the Crumpler fumble was the worst. He holds on; I think the Offense scores on that series.

Harper shouldn't be even talking. Because of him we let them score a BIG TD. If he played his zone or man good the td would never make it with griffin in persuit and harper right behind him. Because of that TD we lost the game. Harper dont try and blame it on other teammates when you screwed up too.

Harper was in zone. It was Hope who was late to the play.

Harper should have jammed Mason into the turf to throw his timing off, but he can't do that cause he is 4-6 98 pounds of zone playing passivity - One of Schwatrzie's guys
