Gregg Williams Out of Jax...Interesting

I think McGinnis is a lock for DC if Schwartz goes.

Williams would have to get a DC job (San Fran?)

 

Could someone tell me when dave mcginnis ever has ever been in charge of a good defense?

He was defensive coordinator for the cardinals for 5 years and a head coach for 3. In those 8 years the cardinals averaged 27th in scoring defense.

Mcginnis' last year as head coach the cards were dead last in scoring defense.


Mcginnis may have loads of experience and he may be a buddy ryan protege like fisher but he has never produced a quality defense even one time. Greg williams has had many quality defenses.

 

In 12 years as DC and head coach williams has had only 4 seasons when his team finished in the bottom half in scoring defense and 14th on average.

5 of his teams finished in the top 10 in scoring defense.

Williams clearly is the better guy than mcginnis.

 

promote Jim Washburn instead

 

Well we would never have a lazy defense he would demand they hustle on every play.

Fisher passed him up once but that was after washburn had been here just 2 years. Now after 10 years nobody can say they are more deserving.

 

Washburn doesn't want it.
