Green signs with Texans

Ahman Green is over the hill.

 

Not a bad pickup, but not exactly what the Texans need. Green's numbers have clearly fallen after the 04 season and i really would be surprised if his avg is higher than 3.5 next season.

 

Any body can run on us with our defense.

 

Another ridiculous statement. Just because we didn't give him what he wanted certainly doesn't mean we screwed him out of money. The point of him testing the market is to see what he's really worth. If his offers from other teams are lower than what he thought, his offer will come down. If they are what he thought he would get, the titans will have to bid higher for him. Either way, the Titans aren't out of the running, they're just testing the market. It's true, he could go, but we keep hearing that he wants to stay here, so I think that's the most likely final result.

If we were just giving players whatever contract they asked for, we would never be able to field a whole team.

1) it was not known at draft time that Dom was done.

2) He says he can still play but the doctors have their doubts.

Unless Green has learned to hold the ball in more then his right hand and stops wearing those black elbow gaurds we should expect several replies from Overalls blaming Green for costing the Texans both games against the Titans next season.
