Honestly, I'm not surprised at all that he's still unsigned at this point.

 

Well that explains why he is undrafted and unsigned.

Maybe he is just too good for the NFL.

 

You've really got to find someone else to follow around. Timmy Chang wasn't drafted EITHER. So saying Harrell is rated higher as a pro prospect doesn't mean much. But it does mean he was taken more seriously than Chang.

 

3 nfl teams gave chang a shot. None have given harrell a shot so far. How could you be a lower prospect than to not even get signed as UDFA?

So called system QBs who put up monster numbers at college and then fail in the nfl is hardly a new thing.

Andre ware won the Heisman in 1989 and was drafted 7th by the lions. Bust! Ware benefited from the houston run and shoot offense.

2 years later in 92 david klinger followed ware from the university of houston to the 7th pick and was also a major bust. Not sure what the bengals were thinking but maybe they saw ware's struggles as a black QB thing. Klinger another QB with monster college numbers who went bust!

Why are there no florida QBs starting in the nfl? Danny Wuerffel had a good a career there as harrell had at tech and won a heisman.

Tim couch was also basically a system QB playing in a spread at kentucky. With his arm strength he should have been a 4th rd pick.

This is hardly a new thing and nfl teams are gun shy about these guys.
