I only go to about one game a year, I have NFL Ticket so I watch all the games every sunday. If i go to a game I will miss everything else that happens, but I love being at the game despite all the hassels. I go to about one titans game a year. Ive been to a few NFL Stadiums such as Tampa, and the meadowlands, and I find that LP Field is really not that bad. The meadowlands is horrible from the few times that I have been there, its trashy and there is no control of traffic after the game ends. Tampa is not that bad, they dont even have a parking lot and you pay about 25 dollars to park on grass. Traffic isnt that bad, the staidum is nice, and those fans didnt give me to much cr** even though I walked in with my face painted blue, lol. I think the titans have a great staidum, and support. It's easy to get around and I think where the staidum is by the river is beautiful. I think all NFL fans that go to games , know the hassels of going to the games. I don't even think of the hassels because I don't consider them hassels, I consider everything that happens part of game day and I love every minute, minus the traffic after the game. I think the one thing where Goodell should improve on is lower the price of beer!!!! I know that won't happen but it would sure make quite a bit of people happy!

I understand why beer is so expensive. Imagine if they sold drafts for $1 a beer. No one would pay attention to the game, because there might be more drama in the stands. I agree that LP is one of the premier outdoor facilities in America. That doesn't mean that they can't make the overall experience better.

However, think about when LP was built, in 1998-99. Think about how far technology, the NFL, and everything else has come along since the late 90s. I remember breaking the bank on a 2x CD burner and a 10gb hard drive back in the late 90s. Cell phones weren't even that popular back then and if you had one, you paid dearly for the 45 minutes of talk time that you were granted, with $.60 per minute overage charges.

Now, Americans have flat panel TVs, big comfy sofas, any game you want on the ticket with fantasy updates and you can be as loud and disorderly as you want in your own home. Call this economic climate what you want, blame it on whoever you want, but it simply makes more sense to stay at home. Even commercials on TV tell fans to "Stay at home, watch the game in Sony HDTV" or "Buy a Visio and dont mess with parking and hassles"

I think in an economic sense (I by no means majored in Econ so someone feel free to correct me) the NFL has reached a ceiling of sorts. While I wholeheartedly think the NFL is trying to do more to make American football an international sport and bring more women and minorities into the fold.
(Hence all the players wearing pink and referees speaking in Spanish during games)

I'm not sure if the NFL can bring more fans into the fold, especially if there is a lockout.

Why do people complain about having to drive to games so much, GET OVER IT or go be a fair-weather Colts fan. And you can wear your PJs to the game, I have done it several times, I plan to wear my girlfriend's blue Snuggie to the home opener, Titans wizard style. People do pay lots of money to see the B squad, PSL holders have to pay regular season game prices for every home preseason game to see the rookies that Fisher will never allow to play. The complaint about getting in at the gate however is completely valid, but that is mostly attributable to the drooling idiot gatekeepers who feel you up professionally. I've never encountered such a pathetic group of drooling imbeciles, they make the TSA look like a brain trust.

LP Field was the first wave of newer stadiums being built this last decade, of course it's lacking in a few areas. And if you're complaining now, wait another 10 years when it's really lousy. But the one thing I'd like to see at more stadiums is on-site parking. I hate walking the extra 20 minutes only to have to wait another 20+ minutes to get rubbed down and passed through medal detectors.

To get me to attend more games Mr. Goodell; simply accommodate the people traveling further with closer parking! I don't care about the $9 beer, or $5 hot dog. Every place that knows you're stuck there will rape your wallet. What else are you to do? You're stuck at the stadium, just like at Six Flags who charges $4 for water. They do it because we let them.

Maybe we could have Ali Baba and his cousins set up a kiosk outside the stadium selling beer and pretzels to compete with the outstanding prices inside....

The few times a year I do see my team live is special, and I won't let an added walk or wait spoil my experience. If you hate the wait at the front, arrive earlier.

Let's just build a new stadium every time a new TV comes out TitansErick, now that's a good economics lesson. I too hate the high drink prices, but it is very easy to sneak alcohol in. I have never been caught even when I was 16. My usual plan is airplane bottles in the back pocket behind the wallet (I can fit three). If you make the gatekeeper uncomfortable he pats you down less. That way I magically morph all of my $7 singles into $14 doubles for $8 total.

The NFL has been blessed because they can keep putting out the same product year after year and continue to do well and profit.I think we are about to see the beginning of the end of this.

Other entertainment venues, such as Las Vegas, keeps building, updating, engaging its patrons to come back. They offer new incentives, exclusive offers, they reward you for loyalty.

For example.. Look at the Las Vegas strip circa 1998 compared to now. It looks like two almost entirely different cities. Half of the casinos and buildings that were there in 1998 no longer exist!

If we had actual data available, it would actually surprise you how many psl's are actually owned by ticket brokers. The secondary market for tickets is ridiculous. (which is why you and I have difficulty recouping costs for a ticket) It's good though, at least for Nashville area fans, because it ensures sell outs that prevents blackouts. It probably detracts from actual attendance though, and that's not good. The psl system is likely the causation of the apparent lack of fan noise people complain about. Too many available tickets on game day often priced too high... because the brokers will sell off their inventory to small time venture capitalists... It would be better for the franchise to sell more tickets direct to consumers.

I was at the craps table at the casino up here a while back and the guy next to me had a Titans polo on. I shot the breeze with him a little bit and talked a bit about Titans football. He tried to get me interested in some Titans tickets. He goes on to make the comment: "Yeah, me and my family own 60 PSLs" and he gave me his card and told me to call him if I ever needed seats. If there is one guy with that many PSLs, rest assured, there probably others that do the same thing.

It would be interesting to know how much profit that guy makes from selling tickets. Location of tickets being a big factor.

How much profit you think he makes a game from selling all 60 tickets? $1200?
