I would agree that their strategy has been amateurish when compared to what D. Smith and the NFLPA have been doing. Guess that's why they hired a litigation guy to represent the union instead of a football guy. At this point it appears they brought a gun to a knife fight and I would agree with the article, Goodell is over his head.

The lockout would have never taken place if Tags was still the commish. Goodell is a puppet for the owners.

I'm sick and tired of Goodell.

The breaking point for me was changing the rules of football to "ensure safety".

He should be fired for that alone. When you have offensive players speaking up about safety issues (defenseless players, tackling, etc) then you should listen. They're the ones your supposed to be protecting.

I'd be willing to give one vote to remove Gooddell from office.

I agree with some rules like no horse collar or helmet to helmet for examples, as they're incredibly dangerous every time and those rules don't strip too much from the game. But some of these new changes are just ridiculous. It's a violent sport, players know what they're signing up for. What's next? No KO's in boxing?

They could save everyone a lot of trouble by just telling them it's now against the rules to hit too hard. That's essentially what it is now, but the league just hasn't officially given it that title.

No secret Goodell is a spineless puppet. Good read tho, love seeing that guy get criticized.
