You can still win games with a solid running game. In todays pass-happy "spread the field" high-octane, quick scoring offenses, the Giants beat the Patriots with solid, hard-nosed football.

But the biggest key? DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS.

    And catching passes helps too.

    Here's to the Giants!

And you can win with one of the worst QBs in the NFL. This game gave me a lot of hope.

Now that the season is over, I hope to look forward to a few months of bile-free posts.
I swear, Gloat, sometimes I have to wonder if you've ever seen a real v****a in your life. You're definitely the GoTitans Most Negative Poster Of All Time; and boy, have we had a few...

I really like how they mixed up their defense. I mean the Giants defensive line dominated, although they seemed to get tired in the 2nd half. But I also liked the way they brought a backer or a safety or a corner every once in a while to keep the Pats on their toes. They were only rushing 5, but it seemed like 7 or 8 at times. Hmmmm....

Even though Gloat has turned it into the most negative and whiny thing ever, I do think that there's a very important lesson that all of us can learn from the game yesterday. That lesson is this:

Stick with your franchise QB. Support him. Surround him with people who believe in him (and remove guys like Tiki and Shockey who choose to undermine him). QB development can be slow and there are going to be a lot of mistakes along the way. However, if you wait it out and help make sure that your QB is constantly taking steps forward (no matter how small), you can reap the benefits in the end.

Vince isn't going to pass for 30 TDs next season. He's probably going to have a bunch of INTs. However, he's still developing and one day he will take us to where we want to be. It could take another 5 years, but it will be well worth the wait.

Good points all around, especially Avvie and Toronto!

The NFL team that was first in the league in passing has STILL never won the superbowl.

And the one play Eli made looked awful familiar didn't it. I wonder where he learned that from. Quick learner that Eli.

You hit the nail on the head, big time.

This is why Reinfeldt should be scouring the entire damned league to find us some good receivers, and re-signing those who should be re-signed. No more of this jerkin' around during the off-season hoping 4th round draft picks turn into superstars, or going into the season hoping to slip into the playoffs.

Championships start in the front office, the base plan is then set by the coaching staff, and are eventually won on the field, simply because the front office finds guys who can get it done. It's time for our front-office to GET GUYS WHO CAN GET IT DONE.
