I thought I was talking about vs. the downtown Hilton. Given the right situation I'd sleep in the camper of my Nissan.

And don't think people aren't spunking up the Hilton.
I'm talking the hotel, not just Paris.

    :)

Yeah all hotels are spunked up but that Daze Inn downtown is just revolting...
Coming into Nashville from out of town - the overall experience of staying at the Hilton with the casual stroll over the bridge to the stadium easily worth a few extra beaners... Personally I'd stay at the Hermitage, bring the dogs, mau down some Capital Grill grub and have the hotel van drop me by the river for the game..

BiPolar, get your mindstate right! Ain't nobody wanting to travel from out of town and stay in an icky place! When I had a little respite in Chattanooga, I can guarantee that my stay at the Read House, downtown is what made me enjoy being there, more than anything. If I had to spend the night at some Red Roof Inn, I probably would not have enjoyed my stay in Chattanooga.

Creeping Cruds, I was thinking more of being near 2nd Ave. when I suggested the Hilton, but you're spot on with the Hermitage. That place really rocks! However, for an out of towner, I strongly suggest the Hilton or Opryland with the ride on the boat.

Well, the Hermitage is hands down the nicest hotel in nashville, but it's probably not the best bang for your buck. I generally think capitol grill is overrated, though it is definitely a good restaurant.
